An early start, a cab ride to the station and we were away on the Renfe fast train to Valencia. (3 hours - 8.30am - 12 midday) What a perfect way to travel! The track ran a few kilometres in from the coast and offered glimpses of the ocean fronted by many kilometres of high rise apartments. Inland was farmland principally citrus but artichoke, cauliflower, lettuce etc. The country has been savaged by three years of drought, an occurrence rare even for one year in the area. Approaching the train station at Valencia was an abundance of graffiti and rubbish, as well as some rather shabby housing blocks. On our arrival at Valencia we didn’t have any expectations, but as soon as we cleared the station the city rose magnificently before us. One hundred metre wide streets with pedestrians walking the canyons of buildings, each magnificent in its own right, beautifully presented and maintained. No litter no graffiti, everything pristine and breathtaking. A city like nothing we have ever experienced before or could ever have imagined. Happy people going about their gregarious lifestyle, plus I should mention, a foodie’s delight!
Photos are yet to come. Trying to upload with limited wifi is challenging but we'll make it happen!
I like the pic you have up now. It is a very interesting city. We only managed a few nights there, but there definitely will be a next time.
Looks amazing and very colourful. Hope your calf continues to improve Dave....a rough start. Still very warm here, 30° today. Willing some cooler weather to grace us soon 🙏 Buen Camino Jen & Donna
