Last night we learned about hibernation. We arrived in our accommodation at 4pm. Asleep within minutes. Awoken by an embarrassed manager telling us we were given the wrong room. A quick relocation and discount on accommodation, and again we were asleep. Woke around 6am. That’s golden sleep.
Venturing out this morning, the wide paved public areas were abuzz with people enjoying life. We had giant bears, Micky and Mini, Pokémon, and a robot transformer. Music playing, lots of food and coffee but almost invariably a spare seat or table. Don’t know how they manage that, but they do. Without backpacks we covered a lot of the city. Had a great time in the city centre area where locals in traditional garb provided authentic old style dance. The dancers were all smiling, as too were the onlookers. Jenny sidled up to a lady and chatted in Spanish. She is so impressive. The lady had family dancing and was so proud and happy that her chatting came easily, and she had zero English. Well done JD.
We ended our evening with pizza and ice cream before sitting in the square outside our accommodation to absorb the people and activities surrounding. Even had a police apprehension half a metre from where Jenny was perched on a bench seat savouring her ice cream. Entertaining to watch but no arrest. At eight o’clock we are again hostage to jet lag.
The yellow section is where our accommodation is - first floor up, far right with a tiny balcony
So funny! David's discovery of the Camino marker just had to be photographed, arousing the curiosity of the ladies behind. They were quick to investigate after we moved on but realised soon enough there was nothing of interest (to them).

Another little find - a little bit of Sacramento in Valencia
An abstract piece of art depicting a bull fighter in front of an impressive looking bull fighting arena
Loving your photos and commentary so far Dave & Jen.
How is your leg holding up Dave?
Take care.

Dave…are you sure that Spanish lady wasn’t looking at your backsid? You were likely in contravention of some social by-law!
Muy bueno hablando en espanol Jen!😁 The costumes are spectacular and you both look very happy!
Love the dancers‘ costumes. A real treat to view.
Glad you arrived safely. Enjoy the walk and city delights.
